A SCATTERED BOUTIQUE HOTEL WITH A POROUS STRUCTURE.
Further is a hospitality offering that relates to the existing fabric of the village of Pererenan by spreading it’s locations over a number of sites along the same village road instead of combining the offerings within a single large property. Hotel guests move through the village between the sites in order to access each activity or offering. In such, the project also engages with the local retail and food industries which are characterized by a mix of traditional and international influences. The combined program among the different buildings includes a number of cafes and restaurants, spa, various types of hotel rooms and pool terrace settings. Further buildings speak to the spiritual fabric of the place, by engaging with the presence, materiality and regular geometry of the small temples that are found in the area. Such relationship is supported by the character of muted monumentality that the Hotels display and generates a timeless and lasting quality.
The concept of an enclosed inner world is at the core of the private hotel suites which evoke the traditional Balinese house, conceived as a layered enclosure, offering shelter, privacy and progressive levels of intimacy.
